He played in Major League Baseball most notably for the Atlanta Braves. By the time Andruw turned 15, he was the best player on the island. International career
I can’t really take anything away from the rest of these guys – Cal Ripken, Jr. played every single day forever and did so in, at best, a neutral park; I’d say he earned it. Chipper Jones has spent his career in a park not known for giving up home runs, and has been injured often. He also has steroids written all over him, but that’s a different matter – this guy is Ralph Kiner of the modern era. From 1998 to 1999, he continued to increase his offensive production, and in 2000, Jones batted .303 with 36 home runs and 104 runs batted in , making his first All-Star team. Jones started to draw many comparisons to Willie Mays and was considered one of the top center fielders in baseball. He proved to be a top defensive player, leading all center fielders in putouts and total zone runs five years in a row from 1998 to 2002. In 2001, he again hit over 30 home runs and drove in 104 runs but his average dipped to .251 while his strikeouts increased. In 2005, he led the National League with 51 home runs and 128 RBIs, finishing second to Albert Pujols for NL Most Valuable Player.

Second, he had 34 home runs when the 1994 strike broke out – I think he would have managed seven more that season alone. And third, he hit 252 career home runs on the road – neutralize that and you’ve got a 500 homerun hitter. On November 25, 2009, Jones signed a $500,000 deal for 2010 with up to an additional $1 million in performance bonuses.

And following the path of his father, Andruw Jones’ son, Druw Jones is also on the way to becoming one of the best hitters in Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, he went from being one of the best defenders in the league to one of the worst. Jones had only 0.166 batting average, two home runs, and 12 RBIs in 187 at-bats at the time, with 68 strikeouts. Andruw Jones is one of the most influential figures in baseball history. He was originally intended to be a pinch-hitter for the Rangers, but found a starting outfield role due to an injury to Josh Hamilton. Jones would go 3-for-5 in his Rangers debut with an RBI and two runs scored. By the end of April, Jones was batting .344 with three home runs and six runs batted in. On December 5, 2007, Jones agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, worth $36.2 million.

Had Lou Gehrig not ended up with the terrible disease that now bears his name , he would have easily hit the seven more home runs he needed to get from 493 to 500. And as he crossed the plate, he hit the opposing fans with a “shush” finger over his mouth. At 18 years old, Druw is currently a senior at Wesleyan High School in Georgia. He is ranked the No. 1 MLB Draft eligible prospect for 2022 by MLB Network and the No. 4 overall player in his class by Perfect Game.
Druw Jones plays centerfield just like his ten-time Gold Glove Award-winning dad. The 18-year-old is 6ft 4in, 190lb, and bats right-handed. Just like his father, he can mash with the best of them. Then, he went to play in Japan’s baseball league, where he signed a one-year deal worth ¥300 million which is approximately US $3.5 million.
